Neon Sign Cost, Explained

We will not print a fake price table: a custom sign's price is built from its actual design. But the factors are knowable, and this page lays them out so your quote holds no surprises.

Width is the first pricing variable; the size chart pattern appears across the catalogue.

The Five Factors

Size first: neon is priced largely by the amount of tube and backing, so width drives cost — a 50 cm script and a 200 cm version of the same word are different products. Line length second: a design with more line work (double outlines, detailed logos, long phrases) consumes more tube and more bench time than a short word of the same width. Colors third: a single color is standard; multi-color designs wire each element separately and cost more. Backing fourth: cut-to-shape acrylic, rectangular panels and stands price differently. Shipping fifth: a two-meter sign travels as freight, not as a parcel, and the destination sets that cost.

What is not a factor: ordering one piece. OEM custom work starts from a single sign, so the 'custom premium' buyers fear is mostly the design's own complexity, honestly itemized at quote stage.

How to Get a Tight Quote

Send the exact wording or artwork, the width you want (or the wall width and let us propose), the color, and the destination country. Vague inputs produce padded quotes everywhere in this trade; exact inputs produce a number that survives to the invoice. The proof and the quote arrive together, so you approve the look and the price in one step.

To control cost without shrinking the idea: shorten the phrase, choose a script that bends efficiently, keep to one color, and size to the viewing distance rather than to the whole wall — a sign read from three meters does not need to be two meters wide.

Questions Buyers Ask

Why do quotes for 'the same sign' differ between suppliers?

Usually the invisible parts differ: adapter quality, backing thickness, tube grade, packing. Ask each supplier what is inside the price, not just the number.

Is a bigger sign always better value per centimeter?

Per centimeter, usually yes; in total, the sign only needs to fit its viewing distance. Oversizing is the most common way buyers overspend.
