What It Is

Backlit letters glow from behind: the LED light washes out from the rear of each letter and pools on the wall, so the letter itself reads as a crisp silhouette inside a halo of light. It is the most architectural of the letter styles — quiet from a distance, unmistakable up close — and the standard choice for premium facades, hotel walls and lobby branding.

In a backlit construction the face is opaque — brushed or polished stainless steel, or painted metal — and the light escapes only around the edges, which is why the effect is sometimes described as a halo. Letters are mounted on studs that hold them off the wall, and the gap is part of the design: it sets how wide and soft the halo spreads.

Materials and Build

Letters are fabricated, not printed: faces are cut by laser from stainless steel (#304 or #316) or acrylic — with 3, 5 and 8 mm acrylic options listed — returns are formed to depths between 10 and 180 mm, and the finish is polished, painted or left as brushed metal. Inside sit waterproof LED modules powered through a Mean Well transformer at a safe DC 12V. The listed production route is laser cutting, polishing, painting and assembly, and the listed production time is 5–7 working days.

Every order ships with a 1:1 paper installation template, so the spacing designed on screen is the spacing drilled on the wall. Listed warranty terms are 5 years for stainless steel and acrylic elements and 3 years for the LED and transformer; express delivery by DHL, FedEx or TNT is listed at 3–5 days, with air freight at 5–7 days and sea freight at 20–30 days for larger sets.

Where Backlit Works Best

Backlit letters belong on walls that deserve the effect: stone, concrete, dark painted render and timber cladding all catch the halo well. They are the default recommendation for hotels, professional offices, clinics and upmarket retail, where a frontlit face can look too bright. Because the face itself does not glow, daytime appearance is pure metal — the sign reads as fabricated lettering by day and as a halo composition by night.
